Bacchanal Circle 1999 Bronze Height: 32 inches, diameter 9 feet (80 cms x 300 cms diameter) The figures are in half life size scale Edition of 9 This sculpture consists of seven figures and is in the tradition of the classical bacchanal with its Renaissance meaning of agape. One Circle is already sited at an office park development in Dublin and placed on a water feature. The sculpture is intended as a fountain centre piece, the figures mounted on a raised bronze bowl, with water flowing over the rim into a pool below. I am still in the process of designing this, and it is how I ideally conceive its placing. However alternative placing is possible. It is important that it be viewed at eye level with the figures 33 inches above the ground. This sculpture will be on exhibition at the Bruton Street Gallery, London in November and December 2001.
